HELP US TRAIN A NEW GENERATION OF NURSES

MEDICAL CARE

$3 can help a youth receive counseling and testing for HIV. If HIV positive, youth are provided with medical care and ongoing counseling.

$50 a month can help a person living with HIV-AIDS access comprehensive medical care, including care by a physician, and be followed up in the community to ensure good health and a productive life.

$50 a month you can provide a salary for a community based health worker to provide ongoing care and follow up for patients and orphans within the community.

$100 a year can provide comprehensive medical care for a child and help prevent them from dying of common diseases such as malaria, pneumonia, diarrhea, measles, and malnutrition.

$85 you can help buy a bicycle for a community health worker to visit patients and monitor other ACCESS project activities within the community. Bicycles also are used to transport patients to a health facility in an emergency.

$20,000 can help build a hospital inpatient unit.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

$50 a term or $150 a year can keep a child in primary school and provide him or her with books, pencils, a uniform, shoes, and a daily lunch.

$100 can pay one month of a teacher’s salary and help provide a quality education for orphans and other vulnerable children.

$150 a term or $450 a year can keep a girl in secondary school for a year and safeguard them from dropping out and being married off at an early age.

$400 can help train and equip a community based health worker to provide medical care and other developmental services on a daily basis within his or her community.

WATER

$20 can buy a water purifier for a family of five to have clean water for 3 years.

$2,200 can help dig a well that will provide clean, accessible water to 50 families.

INCOME GENERATION AND POVERTY REDUCTION

$35 can buy a goat for a family to generate income and to provide fertilizer for their gardens.

$50 every 6 months can buy a variety of modified seeds for a family to plant crops for home consumption and  for income generation.

$120 can buy a cow for a family with orphans that will help them get milk for improved child nutrition, cow dung for fertilizers and a source of income to keep the orphans healthy and in school.

$250 can buy a sewing machine to empower a widow to pull out of poverty and provide income for her family.

$300 can help buy a water irrigation pump for a family to grow high yield crops out of season and generate an income.

ADVOCACY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

$7 per week supports a 1 hour radio talk show that discusses the needs of orphans, women, vulnerable children and people living with AIDS.

$400 can procure costumes and a drum set for community support groups to conduct outreach within the community to increase awareness about their needs and generate innovative ideas for poverty reduction.

$800 can help support a sports tournament to bring youth both in and out of school together to learn about HIV-AIDS and the special role they can play within their community.
